Established in 2001, Shady Oaks Kennel began as a dream for a young dog lover. It quickly evolved into a family-owned and operated business, where our passion for canines has set a new standard for excellence in the pet boarding industry. Nestled in the scenic North Georgia mountains, Shady Oaks Kennel has not only become a local landmark but also a lasting legacy, offering unparalleled care in dog boarding, grooming and day camp to our furry guests and their families in Tiger, Clayton and surrounding areas.
Just a little over ninety minutes north of Atlanta. We are located in the beautiful Appalachian mountain town of Tiger, Georgia. We are 3 miles south of Clayton and 8 miles north of the gorgeous Tallulah Gorge State park. Lake Burton, Lake Rabun, and the Chattoogna River are within 10 miles of us. Our kennel, with its lush green yards, is in the center of our property with fencing and borders all around. Our residence is also located on this farm-like setting where we keep a close watch on our boarders 24/7.
Our smallest (and sometimes medium) sized guests are kept in their own kennels and an outdoor play area sized just for them. We also have quieter spaces for our shy and timid boarders
At Shady Oaks Kennel our larger guests have large accommodations and bigger outdoor spaces. Dogs that come from the same family may stay together or choose to have adjacent kennels for more individual space. They can also share their outdoor time with family members.
Our spacious outdoor areas are well maintained grassy yards that are constantly cleaned between playtimes. Our boarders enjoy romping and running in the cool mountain air or relaxing in the sunshine.
Our doggie day camp at Shady Oaks provides owners the luxury of dropping off in the morning and picking up in the afternoon. The campers play in small groups according to size and temperament. Day camp can be on a schedule with one of our affordable packages or on a “as needed basis“ Owners enjoy picking up their tired and exercised campers as they have had a great day of play at camp.
We now offer a range of bathing services, de-shedding and toenail clipping. We also offer mini clips for certain areas like feet, face, and sanitary area.
We do not offer full grooming.
